Who Is Truth For The Final Generation?
In 1831, William Miller concluded, by studying the prophecies of Daniel and the Revelation, that Christ would come to earth in his day. By carefully comparing Daniel 8 and 9 with Revelation 14:6,7, he realized that a momentous event was predicted to occur on October 22, 1844. (The details of these prophecies are outlined in our section on prophecy).
Daniel predicted over 2500 years before the 1844 date that Christ would begin a new phase of His ministerial work in the Most Holy Place of the Heavenly Sanctuary where he now ministers on behalf of His people. He saw this event in vision and wrote it in the book that bears his name. Daniel 7: 9-14 describes the judgment scene where Christ is brought before the Ancient of Days to represent His people on earth and receive His Kingdom, power and glory.
Since October 22nd 1844, the truth in Jesus has been shining upon our world in blazing glory. This special truth is designed to perfect a people in righteousness, preparing them for the second coming of Christ. The work of judgment accompanies this glorious truth. The acceptance of this truth will mature the believer to the full measure of the stature of Christ. The believer will be sealed with the seal of the living God and the judgment will pronounce him fit for paradise.
Unfortunately, those to whom this message was given failed to fully appreciate its saving power and it did not achieve that which it was designed to accomplish. As a result, the people of God have been wandering in the spiritual wilderness of Laodicean lukewarmness for nearly four generations. Because in Biblical calculation 40 years equals one generation, October 22, 2004 is the end of the fourth generation after Christ entered the final phase of His ministerial work in the Heavenly Sanctuary.
In 1888, Alonzo T. Jones and Ellet J. Waggoner, under direct inspiration of God, brought to the world the glorious message of God’s covenant in the context of Righteousness by Faith. This message was designed to prepare the people of God for eternity, but the ones to whom they delivered the message made light of it, despised the messengers, and robbed the church of the only message that contained the sanctifying power to perfect it in righteousness. This message truly was the gospel message in verity of Revelation 14:6–12— the angel whose light should fill the whole world. Again, the purpose of God in bringing His people to perfection of character was grievously frustrated, thereby perpetuating the presence of sin in God’s universe.
Throughout the years that followed the rejection of this glorious message, God has worked through various mediums to revive it again. Now that we have reached the closing years of this fourth generation after 1844, God has again found a people who have embraced the message. Around the world there are earnest messengers who are receiving and preaching this special message of truth for our time. We at Truth For The Final Generation constitute part of this movement. We are pursuing every available avenue to present the message to those whom the Lord graciously places within our sphere of influence.
Since 1984, exactly 140 years after Christ entered the Most Holy Place of the Heavenly sanctuary, we have studied and preached this message to the world. As a people with a mission, we began in Barbados, and now are spreading throughout the Caribbean Islands and the United States of America. It is our desire that this message reaches the hearts of all God’s people, that they may be prepared for the closing cataclysmic events of earth’s history which will usher in the glorious appearance of our Lord.
